    this island was covered with woods and batches of wolves roamed through them. Look at all the places that contain Dia (Lord) such as Béal Dia Tuam, Baile Dia Cliaí, and Dreoieead Dia. Other places tell of some ancient church such as Cill Coinnig, Cill Dara and Cill an Caellaig.
    We have other places which contains the name of some chieftain such as: Caisteán a' Barraig (Barry's Castle), Caisteán a' Búrcaig (Burke's Castle) Dún Gannon (Gannon's Fort) and Béal Dia a' Barraig (Barry's Highway). We have names which suggest a battle such as: an Maim (a old grave) and Ballinwoash (place of death). Other place names are: Baile na n-Ean (Home of the birds) and Torlanagh (Dry Lake). The is not a place in Eíre that does not tell of some particular event
