    Dear Sgt Reynolds,
    I would like if you wold dray attention to a number of thefts which have been committed in our house and in neighbouring houses recently. About three weeks ago three geese were stolen from the shed. A few nights after a barrel and tobacco were stolen from the premises of Mr. Sally. A few nights ago a hay stack belonging to Mr McGing was set on fire. The whole village is in a state of consternation and if this is allowed to
