    When dinner is over I usually go out working until dark. ...

    When dinner is over I usually go out working until dark. When I come in I sit at the fire & I wait there until my tea is ready. When tea is over I learn my lessons for the next day, & if I am finished before my sister I try to keep her from learning hers. She hates teasing. Sometimes my father reads us a story, but he is generally too busy & once in a while one of the neighbours comes in for a chat. If anyone tells a story you be sure that in the middle of it my mother will look at one
