  1. The study of the Irish language would be much more fascinating if it was studied with the object in view of learning (our) more about our Irish Place names. There is not a town, village or district in our country whose name does not suggest some particular event that occurred there. Maybe it was a chieftain that died there or perhaps it was a battle that was fought there. The Irish Place Names are an index to our imagination. We have foreign names referring to music such as Valladolid and Toledo, but our country teems with names of places.
    When we look at Breaghy - the plain of the wolves - it reminds us of the time when
