  1. I am thirty years of age. I once remember reading a book and when I had it finished I said to myself, "If ever I should chance to be an author I think my ambitions would be achieved." I kept on reading until at length I thought there must be some trait of an author in me. So I set to work and here I am.
    I live in the country and I rise at dawn. I take a long walk and then I return to begin my work in the study. After some writing I take breakfast and then I resume my work. Somedays I do very little as I am not in the mood for work and I always prefer a ride or walk to work. I return greatly refreshed and make a further
