  1. Long, long ago I remember being shut up in darkness having no knowledge of what the outside world was like. Then one day as I was slumbering as usual I heard loud talk and hammering. I was then hacked up with thousands more like myself and we were whisked into a truck and conveyed to a big factory.
I was ill-treated at the factory. I was throan into a furnace and burned and hammered and I wished that I was never taken out of the pit. At last I (received) was moulded into the shape of a penny and was sent out into the wide, wide, world.
