    uncle Tom stepped in to see us. When he saw "Rogue" he said: "Why! that's John Tom's dog." When "Rogue" heard that he looked utturably miserable.
    Next morning John Tom came riding on a mule for his dog. Tom knew his dog and we had to part with him, though we felt very lonely after him.
    Every morning when my mother opens the door she expects to meet "Rogue". I hope that some fine morning when we rise that "Rogue" will dart into the kitchen, wag his stumpy tail, and try to look like one of the family.
