    Scabs were cured by spitting on the hearth-stone and making the Sign of the Cross with it on the wounded part before breakfast.
    A scald was cured by getting a rotten piece of a board and saw it up and the dust out of it is put on the scald. Other people cured scalds by putting on bread-soda or powder.
    For sore eyes people used honey three times a day after meals.
    For a tooth-ache people used to get washing-soda and rub it of the gum for about three-minutes and not swallow it.
