- There are holy wells in different parts of the country. St. Patrick's well is on the hill of Oran and the reason why it is called St. Patrick's well. On his journey through Oran he met a woman carrying a pale of water on her head he asked how far she had to go with the water and she replied one mile. He put down his spear on the hill of Oran. The water sprang up ever since. It is called St. Patrick's well. People make stations on Sunday mornings(continues on next page)
