There are many blessed wells in this district. There is a well situated about four miles from here on the Ballinasloe road. it is called St Cuan's Well" Crowds of people visit the well every year. The 15th of October is the proper day to visit the well. The priest says the "Rosary" around the well with the people. Before they start the Rosary they pull fifteen rushes. There is a stone at the well with the image of Christ on it. And as the people go around the well when they come to the stone they bend their knee to the ground and let a rush fall.
