  1. People wore no shoes long ago, until they were about twenty years of age. There was a few old women around here and an old man named Mike Fleming wore no shoes at any time. At the present time the children go in their bare feet during the Summer.
    There is no shoemaker nearer than Ballygar about four miles from here. The people made their own boots out of the hides of animals some of the people wore clogs before now.
