In olden times there were no National Schools like we have now-a-days. There were no schools, but there were only secret schools, because they were not allowed by the Government to have any school. The children had to walk about ten miles to school. The teachers used to teach under a hedge or in a barn or where they could get shelter. There were not many children going to school at that time.
