- A headache was cured long ago with tea leaves.
Boils were cured with sugar, and soft soap.
Mumps were cured with a plant called gladom. A toothache was cured by warming a raisin to the fire and putting it to the tooth. Wild-fire was cured by putting a gold ring to it. Stys were cured by getting nine goosberry thorns and pointing it to the sty and by making the Sign of The Cross.(continues on next page)
