The shops were not very plentiful long ago. The old people sold, and bought things differently to what they do now. The people exchanged their goods with other people. (The gave) a cow for a horse, a sheep for a calf and so on. The people had four penny fit. they called a pound a quid a sixpence a shilling a bob.
