  1. Local Forges.
    There are six forges in this parish. The smiths are Pake Mulligan, Michael Kelly, Pake Fitzmorrice, Tom Donohoe, John Banertine, and Tom Reilly. People have been smiths for many years, because it was a smith that made a brooch for the Blessed Virgin. It is said that one day the Holy Family went by a wind-swept road.
