  1. Long ago when people were baking bread they used bake enough that would them for a week. The vessel they baked the bread in was called the bastable.
    They used put cuts on the bread to make it rise. The bread they made was stampy, potato cake and griddle bread. In olden times they used make floor locally. Farmers had a quern of their own. It was used for grinding wheat, oats, and corn.
