  1. Last Tuesday, Wednesday and Thurday the races were held in Listowel. I was there on Wednesday and I enjoyed them. There were a great number of shows in the market. I won many prizes and was delighted with my good fortune.
    I was not in the Island because none of my companions were going there. There was a large crowd of people in the Market and in the Island. The day was very fine but after six o'clock in the evening it began to rain.
    There were more horses in the Island last year than were there
