  1. In olden days people used to in their shoes in their hands until they were near the town. Then they would put on the shoes and when they were to leave the town again they took off the shoes. The old people scarcely ever wear any shoes. The old people say if you did not throw out the feet water two old hags from sliabh na mban would come and tear you out of the bed and ask you why didn't you throw out the feet water.
