  1. There are two forts in the townland of Ballyhorgan. The fort in the pound is called the Black fort because it is enclosed by a hedge of Blackthorn trees. In the fort is a big iron flag down about a foot in the ground and a ring on top of it. The other fort is fringed with a wall of stone. The land where the fort is owned by Mr. Aurtan Goodman.
