  1. Fairs are usually held in Listowel once a fortnight. They are always held in the town. The cattle are sold to buyers. They are always sold at different prices. The cattle are marked with different colours such as red and blue. If a price is offered and if the owner of the animal does not think that suitable a neighbour steps in and he will split the difference. Every jobber has a different mark, they mark them with chalk and paint.
