    The boat-fishing season opens on the night of April the first each year and lasts for three months.
    Some years ago on night before, the local priest came and gave his blessing to the boatsmen and nets so that they might have good catches.
    At twelve midnight the opening commences. Each and every license fisher-man with boat and net goes to the river bank and takes up their position. The first boat in the river means first haul and so on and to save arguments all the boat-men cast lots for
