Another evening a man was coming from Listowel. He was living alone in his house so he went into the fort to pick some sticks for he knew there would be no fire before him. He had a nice bundle of sticks picked when he saw a woman. He knew her well but he knew she was dead. He got in dread and he threw away the sticks and ran away home. After that he never went near the fort.
