    St. Brigid Day. The people make crosses of timber and put them on the rafters of their houses in honour of St. Brigid.
    St Patrick's Day. It is a custom to wear shamrock and harps and green ribbon.
    Chalk Sunday. Those that did not marry get chalked by a crowd that generally collect at the chapel gates.
    May Day. There are many customs connected with May-day. On May Eve the branches of the sycamore or Summer is brought in and put up around the house. It is supposed to keep out evil. Long ago the people used dance round the May tree, and many people would not give away milk on May day. It is said if
