  1. The study of the Irish language would be much more fascinating if it was studied with the object in view of learning more about our Irish Place Names. There is not a single town or village or district in our Country whose name does not suggest a particular event that happened there. It might have been a chieftain that had died there or a battle that had been fought. The Irish Place Names are an index to our imagination. We have foreign town names reffering to music such as Valladolid and Toledo, but our country teems with names of places.
