  1. The Visitor 7/10/'37
    No one knew where it came from, but there it was. As soon as we opened the door it darted into the kitchen, wagged it's stumpy tail, and tried hard to look like one of the family. A visitor had come to stay.
    It was not a lovely dog but it was certainly lovable. He was always ready to go for a walk and a frolic. We all welcomed him and we called him "Rogue" but he did not mind a bit.
    He was useless as a watch-dog because he ran to meet everyone and licked their hands. Postmen, beggar-men, tinkers and tramps were all the same with "Rogue". One day my
