  1. Over a thousand people attended an Airidheacht which was held in Ballintubber on Sunday last. On the Árdán were Rev Fr. Biggins P.P. Mayo Abbey, Mr Michael Moran, Solicitor, Castlebar, Mr Owen Hughes, N.T. Knockroosky Miss Dot Kelly, Dance Teacher, Castlebar, the Misses London and McDonagh, Preparatory College, Tourmakeady, etc.
    Owing to a large downpour of rain the crowds had to disperse. There was only one of the competitions over, that is dancing. Amongst the many items was a drama "Slis de'n t-Sean Mhaide" written by Seán Corkell, N.T. Ballintubber.
