    teaching till he came to Ballykildevan. He settled down in Ballykildevan for six years. The children came from all around to be taught by him. The children used to give him a few pennies now and again. He stayed in neighbouring houses at night. He reading, writing and sums. He taught under a hedge in a field where Greene's house now stands.
