- There are several forts in this locality. They are single ringed forts, and have usually a row of trees around them because nobody would cut a tree or branch out of them. They feared the vengance of the fairies. Mr McCormack knew a man who cut bushes in a fort and when he got up next morning his hair and beard were as white as snow. In this locality there were about twenty forts and so in this locality the fairies must have been very plentiful in former times. In the end of a year near a fort you would see rings in the grass. They are caused by the fairies for it is there they train their horses. Mr McCormack saw two forts long ago near one another and a subtarranean passage connecting the two of them.
