- There was once a man working for a farmer for thirteen years. He got thirteen pence for his wages. When he was going home the day was very hot and he sat on the roadside. He fell asleep and when he wakened he saw a tall man standing over him and he asked him to give him some money. The man who worked with the farmer said he had thirteen pence and he would give him half it. Very well said the tall man and he gave it to him.
