  1. There was a great storm one night about a hundred years ago as I heard the old people saying. It was called the night of the High Wind. It did an awful lot of damage such as blowing the rooves off the houses. In one house people had to put out the baby in the garden and the cradle was upset by the wind. The trees were rooted out of the ground. Big stone walls
