  1. After the rising in 1916 about the time the treaty was signed my father made a, discovery in the castle in the plantation about a hundred yards from the house.
    He found a large box of gunpowder and revolvers and rifles. He also found a small box of bullets. He did not want to have them on his land and he flung them all into the lake.
    My father told me this story.
