Long ago there lived a man and his wife died. He (used to) used to herd sheep every night and he used to see his wife. She used to speak to him but he would not answer her. He told his brother and he went out and saw her and spoke to her. She said to him that he had better courage than her husband. She gave him a wand so that the next might when the fairies would all be going out the gap she would be last and he would fire it at her. Next night when he flung it at her she came back. Then they went home.
