    The Big-hole field which derived its name from the big hole that is at the top of it. When heavy frost comes this hole is covered with ice.
    The little field so called because it is smaller than the rest
    The big field which derived its name owning to its being the largest field of the lot. It contains six acres
    The high field because it is higher than the rest
    The long field because of its length
    The sandpit field received its name from the large sandpit that is in the middle of it
    The river field got its name from the Owenmore River which runs through it

  2. There are a lot of fields in my district but half of them have no names, here are some of them.
    The Big field so called because it is larger than any of the rest.
    The bog field because long ago this field was a bog but now it is a meadow field.
    Rodger's field a field near the Ox Mountains about a quarter of a mile from my home in the townland of Gleann and Parish of Ballisodare. The ruins of an old house is to be seen there which is said belonged to a family named Rodger.
    Forth field so called because in it there is a forth.
