    Severe weather.
There was a very heavy fall of snow about the twenty third of February 1932 and it remained on the ground for over a week.
There were many lambs and sheep smothered in the snow. The telegraph wires were broken.
There were gate-sellers coming from Blackwater and when they got as far as Ferns they were not able to go any farther. The post did not come because the snow was too heavy for the post-man to travel. Some people rolled the snow off the fields to let the sheep graze. I remember this snow-fall quite well.
