  2. The Local Forge.
There is only one forge in our district. The smith's name is Brian Kenny. The forge is on the side of the road and is about two hundred yards from Bookey's Stream where the first battle of '98 was fought.
The roof is made of wood and over the wood is felt.
There are two half-doors on the forge. There is only one fire place. The bellows is made like a small hand-bellows, but it is a lot bigger. At one end of the bellows is a little pipe in wheel the wind comes out and the wind is forced out by a big stick. The tools he has are :- anvil, vice, pincers, knife, rasp, hammer, chisels, sledge, and a tool for driving nails out of an animal's hoof. He shoes, horses, asses, ponies, jennets and he repairs ploughs, harrows
