  1. There is one tailor in my parish of Riverstown by the name of Luke Mc Nulty a native of Ballysumaghan. He always works in his own home only. Nowadays the cloth is not spun but it was spun in former times. Long ago the clothes were made of hard tweed called [?]. It was made of wool in Ballisodare and it used to be sold at the Market House in Collooney every fair day.
The implements the tailor uses are; a scissors, a short strong needle, a thimble with no bottom and a smoothing-iron.
Long ago shirts were made in my district of Castledargon out of flax grown but there was a great trouble attached to it. First they used to pull it and [?] it like oats. When it would be very dry they used to bring it into a barn and [?] it.
