  1. In my district there are three roads bearing the names of the Main Road which leads from Collooney to Ballymote. There are four or five crossroads situated on this road from Collooney to Ballinabull which is situated about three miles on the West side of Collooney.
    The first crossroads is about one mile from Collooney and from the main road there leads an old road up through Annaghmore Wood and into Coolaney. This road is always kept in good repair.
    There is another crossroads about a quarter of a mile above this one. One road leads from the main road into Coolaney and the other road leads into Cloonamahon. All those roads are kept in good repair.
    The road leading from Collooney to Ballmote is not so old, and the road leading from the first crossroads is not so old, and the road leading from the first crossroads was once the main road. This road is a couple of hundred years old.
    The main road was made by the workers of the County Council. The broke stones with a crusher and they also bought gravel from men who owned sandpits and this gave work to a lot of people.
    Long ago the boys and girls from every art used to come to a certain crossroads and hold a dance there. The crossroads at Ballinabull was one of the principle places they used to hold them at. They had a couple of fiddlers and tin whistle players. The dance used not be over until late hours of the morning.
