  1. A man coming home from Abbeyfeale drunk one night was passing Rathoran fort when he heard beautiful music. He stopped and went in and saw crowds of people dancing and enjoying themselves.
One of the men said to him "a mhac a mhice mháirtín". They were playing a reel and he went and danced with the fairies. He could whistle the reel afterwards and people used to come from all parts to hear him whistle it. It is known today as the "Fairy Reel".
