- Floods
The old people tell a tale about a great flood that came about one hundred years ago. It broke into the house of Thomas Collins Sluicequarter, Islandanny. Thomas had a son Tommy who was a great swimmer.
It was taking off a box and Thomas called his son who jumped out out of the bed and sat up in the box in his night attire. There was ten pounds in the box it was taken and Tommy up on it.
It was thrown into Sheehy's place in Islandanny near Duagh.
He opened the box and took out the ten pounds and bought a suit of clothes at Sheehys. He then spent the remainder on drink.
