  1. Darby O Connor - father of Shawn Darb who lived in Lybes also was a great wrestling champion. It seems wrestling was a favorite sport in Duagh ever before Dann O Mahony was heard of or even born.
    The old village of daugh and the Catholic Church were situated in Springmount near where the cemetery now is. The entrance to the Chapel field is still marked by an old ash tree called the Holy Tree. It is said to be hundreds of years old and to day nobody would lay a desecrating hand on it.
    Under the shade of this tree, which was near the C Church many wrestling matches took place. The champion wrestler put his back to this tree on Sunday +
