  1. This woman who is now dead, was away in the County Cork at school, there being no National School in these parts. At the age of fourteen she had just returned home for Christmas.
    She arranged with an elder sister to accompany her to early Mass to Lyre, but she woke to find it broad daylight. She concluded the sister had forgotten her and after a hurried preparation she set off on foot for the Church in Lyrecrompane.
    She went into the Church and had some difficulty in finding a seat as the Church was full, though the priest had not yet arrived, but the candles were lighting and all
