  1. About a hundred years ago Clare Creamery was completely gutted by fire.
    In the early hours of the morning the manager who was Clancy noticed flames coming from the creamery. He immediately raised the alarm, but before help could be summoned the flames had enveloped. In a short time everything was reduced to ashes. The damage was estimated at several thousands pounds. The building was of turf and of timber.
