  1. It is believed that a man who lived in Coolcoum could "work Charms."
    One day, as he wanted to draw in the hay rain fell. As he had no workman to assist him he went into the house and brought out the sweeping-brush. It began to pike the hay into the cart and served him as a man.
    A Protestant gentleman was getting married to a beautiful lady. Everyone in the district except a Catholic boy was invited to the wedding.
    On the night of the wedding he was walking on the road and met the fairies. They asked him why was he not at the feast. He said he was not invited, but the fairies said, that they should take him with them. He did not know where he was until he found himself on the roof of the castle, looking down on the guests.
