- 1. For a headache, to take a grain of breadsoda and half a cup of hot water.
2. Longe ago, there was a woman whose name was Kate Faragher in Curlane, and she used to have a cure for toothache and sprains. She had a bit of red flannel and she used to warm it by the fire and put it with the jaw or the ankle. Mary Lavelle her daughter, now (Mrs. John Hession) has the red flannel in the box yet.
3. For a sore back, to get a half pint of vinegar and a package of needles. Put the needles into the vinegar and leave it aside a few days until the needles are melted,then rub it of the back.
4. For a sore throat, a piece of flannel and a bit of goose grease.
5. For corns- to boil a bit of ivy and some tóirpín (which grows on corner of thatched roof).
