  1. One night there was a man dead in the village of Killamonagh. There was a lot at the wake. Two men went out and they went up the road. When they were up at the Clocan (where a small stream runs under the road) they saw a man and he was riding a black horse and he had no head. The two men went near him and when they came towards him he began to become white. They went inside he wall to go across the field. There were furze in the field and when they came near them, the man and the black horse were there again. They ran as fast as they could to the road and the man and the headless horse came after them. When they came out in the rad tehy stood, and the man and the horse disappeared and they never saw him again.

One night at twelve oclock, he was on his way from Tuam, when he reached Sylane, two fairy women came out - one from each side of the road, and followed him as far as tóchair Máirtín, and then they disappeared.
