- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)the lisheen and the train went alright.
- One night one of the Murphy men from Kilkeel was going home, he had to pass a good many fields, between Killgarriff and his own home. He had a deck of playing cards in his pocket including the joker. When he was in third field and it was a lonely one when he noticed a bullock following him and the walls falling before him. The animal was nearly up to him when he thought of the joker which he had in his pocket, he pulled it out, and threw it away, and then the bullock stopped following, and the man got home safe. The devil is sometimes called the joker, and it is unlucky to carry the joker with you when you are out at night.
