  1. Marriages usually take place in Shrove. They do not take place Shrove Tuesday. Matches are made in my district. Money is given but stock is not given.
    I do not remember any marriages that took place in houses. The straw - boys visit the houses. they dress in straw and they are received with great hospitality and they usually dance after the wedding.
