    wood called Clooncagh. Its size is thirty acres of land. Some of the land is boggy and some is good land. Our townland got its name from the foot of the wood.

  2. My home district is Gardenfort. It is in the parish of Dysart and the Barony of Athlone. There are six houses in my townland, two slated and four thatched houses. There are five families in the townland and forty people. There are three people over seventy years. They do not know any Irish. They can tell tales in English. The three old people are :-
