  1. The most familiar birds in our district are the blackbird , the thrushes, robins, wrens, wild ducks, wild geese, swallows, curlews, cranes, water hens, gold finches, willy - wag - tails, green linnets, chaffinch, tom tits, grey plovers, golden plovers, teals, widgeons, (halk), hawk, sparrows, bald coots, jackdaws, larks, wrens, yellowhammers and snipes.
The wildgeese, swallows, corncrakes and cuckoo migrate. The wren builds her nest in the eaves and in the thatch. The crow builds her nest in high trees. The blackbird builds in thorny bushes. The jackdaw builds in the chimneys. The corncrake builds her nest in the meadow.
I do not know any story about Our Lord and any of the birds.
Boys are told it is a sin to kill a little bird or or rob a birds nest.
