  1. Local fairs are held in Roscommon,
    Ballygar, Ballyforan, Athleague and Mount-Talbot. The fairs are not always held in towns. Mount- Talbot and Ballyforan are note towns. Buyers often come to farm to farm-houses and buy stock.
    There are no fairs discontinued which were held formerly. The town fairs are usually held in fair greens.
    When an animal is sold luck money is given. It usually amounts to a half-crow
    or three shillings. When an animal is sold it is marked with red or blue raddle.
